Anyone remember the modem code for faster Dial Up?  (Before DSL and WiFi days) I go to some places where only DialUp is available.  It was some place in the "S" register/advance/properties section.  Any help/recall would be appreciated here.  Thanks

Hello my first time on.  In reply to "Modem Code Speed Up" you might try "S11=49 W2 S10=50"  With spaces.  It helps me.  I can't afford cable, so I'm on dail-up.  You might save this if it works for you, so you have it just in case you forget.

That was supposed to be S11-40 not S11=49.

When you get "old" you forget things.  I'm running an older machine with Win98SE on it. I hope these settings will work for you.  Good luck

That was the answer I was looking for.  Thanks.   As I recall, in the modem icon in the control panel, there is an "advance" box,  - click on that and I think that is where you put the code.  I cant get to the icon at the moment, but look around in that section.  You'll find it.
(I think I used S11-10)  The lower the number, the faster it worked for me)
thanks again

Your Very Welcome, dragonfly.  You might still try S11"=" 10.  I'm pretty sure thats the "code" not S11-10.  The "=" sign works for me.  Like I said I am running Win98SE, maybe another OS would work with "S11-10" . Then again it maybe for another modem.  But I don't think so.  As I said I'm "pretty" sure not positive.  Good luck, and have a  good day.

What I would do for good memory.  My second post was supposed to say S11=40 not S11-40. Oh well the older I get the forgetter I get.  Got that from forwardedfunnies.com.  If you want a good belly laugh go to that web site.  But be sure you are sitting down, don't want you to hurt your self if you fall down laughing.
