no disc in hard drive
several times during startup
why?
anyone else get this
and it "just srarted" about six months ago
I cancel, the popup comes back maybe 20 times and finally goes away

   It sounds like something in the startup lineup is trying to access a drive that is not there.  You can look in msconfig (go to Run in the Start menu and type msconfig) and see what is running at startup.
