You guys may have answered this before but I didn't get the answer at the time. I am running HP Pavillion A350 N, Windows XP, Home Edition, Ver 2002, Serv Pack 2, Pentium 4 2.80 GHz, 512 MB Ram.
My machine just recently began not shutting down when I click on Shut=Down. It appears to go through all the steps but will not take the last step to shut the machine of. I am forced to hold the start button in on the CPU to turn it off. Where should I look? Any help whould be appreaciated.

Problem solved. I followed dlwolff0's suggestions to an earlier problem to look at a  knoledge based article and removed the latest version of Roxio and then the computer would shut down.  Thanks
