I recently purchased a used, very good, computer. System is capable of handling,WindowsXP, but it has, Windows2000 as it's, OS. I have my purchased copy,CD, of, WindowsXP, but, I have lost, and/or, misplaced the information on how to reformat the harddrive and load my, WindowsXP. Can someone please help?

   You don't have to reformat.  You could just put the CD in and install Windows XP.

   Please be aware that reformatting can cause a lot of problems and that you will lose everything on the computer.  Only do so, if you know what you are doing.
   If you are reformatting the drive that has the operating system on it, you will have to start your computer using another operating system.  This can be done by using a boot floppy or boot CD (you can find how to make these online).
   You can either delete all of the files on that drive or you can format it by using the DOS commant, "format c:".  If you are formatting a different drive than C, replace c with the drive letter.
   If you want to reformat a drive that does not have the operating system on it, you can open Windows Explorer (right click on the Start button and select Explore from the popup menu), in Windows Explorer right click on the drive that you want to reformat, and select Format from the popup menu.
