If I'm not mistaken, the default location for SaveAs is the "My Documents" folder. I'm not sure that this is what you want, but if you want to move the "My Documents" folder, 1. Back up your registry. (Never hand-edit your registry without first backing it up. People do make mistakes, or you could have a sudden thunderstorm just as you're saving the registry change.) 2. Log in as the appropriate user. (I don't remember if that user needs administrative rights.) 3. Using Regedit or equivalent, go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders\Personal . 4. Change the value there to some folder you like better than "%USERPROFILE%\My Documents" . There are tools to get around hand-editing. I use an old freeware version of X-Setup Pro for this kind of thing. You can find it on one of the sites or pages that specializes in old freeware versions of what is now shareware, such as http://www.321download.com/LastFreeware/page5.html . Even with those tools, you should back up your registry before you start. You never know. Good luck. T. |
