I have been using windows media player 11.0 to rip mp3s with no problem.
What I need help with is if it is possible to burn mp3 were I could put several hours of
music on a audio cd in mp3 format.
Windows media player will burn mp3 to disk but it will only put  about 25 mp3s ona disk and shows the disk as full.  I have tried to burn the mp3s as a data disk as well but it will
not play.
Does any one know of any free or low cost software that will allow me to burn several hours of music to an audio disk in mp3 format?
Thanks so much.

The audio CD format only reads WAV files so Media Player is converting the mp3s to wav when it burns them to a CD.
You can copy the mp3s directly to the CD as files and fit hours of music on a CD.  This is called Digital CD.  It is not the Audio CD format.  The Digital CD format can only be played on your computer or other Digital CD compatible devices (most car CD players are Digital CD compatible), but not on a regular CD player.

I burn mp3s alot using MP10 and they will play anywhere-but the size is limited for cd-The answer is to use dvd media and put mp3s on them as they hold much more-Some of mine hold nearly 5 gbs of info-I only use dvds for video but I am thinking of doing what you want to do-There is a software trial that converts the mp3 to dvd format-I can;t remember the name of the program but I saw it on the VSO software site It is not one of their products but they have the link on their site-I think it is limited trial but I may check it out myself It would be nice to have 5 hrs. of music on a single disk-I believe it compresses the files first-Let us know if it works-

I think the question has to do with Audio CDs.  In other words, a Walkman that plays CDs or a CD player on a stereo.  This is different than a DVD player, a CD player that is mp3 compatible, or the CD player on a computer.  An Audio CD player will not play DVDs and will not play mp3.  It only plays WAVs and so the mp3s were converted to WAVs which are much bigger than mp3 files.
There are newer CD players that play other formats other than Audio CD, but I believe the question here has to do with Audio CDs only.
