I think the question has to do with Audio CDs. In other words, a Walkman that plays CDs or a CD player on a stereo. This is different than a DVD player, a CD player that is mp3 compatible, or the CD player on a computer. An Audio CD player will not play DVDs and will not play mp3. It only plays WAVs and so the mp3s were converted to WAVs which are much bigger than mp3 files. There are newer CD players that play other formats other than Audio CD, but I believe the question here has to do with Audio CDs only. |
