My mouse has been acting strange lately.  Whenever I use the scroll wheel it will continue to scroll for four more rolls.  Does anyone know what makes the wheel continuie to scroll?

The number of lines the mouse wheel will scroll is normally specified by the software controlling the mouse. Perhaps the software setting has been changed.

I've changed the setting to none and the scroll doesn't work at all.  Then I changed it to one and it scrolls 1 and then continues to schroll 3  4 5 more. I just  don't know how to fix it and it is very irritating.

Does it do it all of the time?
If not, it could be that the system is busy and so it then finishes the scrolling after it is not busy but after you have stopped scrolling.
If it does it all of the time, you might try to find the maker of your mouse online and see if they have an answer for that.
