How can I stop Norton Internet Security 2004 wanting to scan two of the Winrescue files as they are created ?

-not a big deal, as it gets there eventually, but as Winrescue runs at boot time, it prolongs the startup.

That is something that you should ask Symantec or look in Norton's documentation.  Norton is not our program and I do not know that much about it.

I fear there is no good way out of it , unless there are options for Norton at startup ; follow Ray's advice if you are lucky ; otherwise rememeber that any antivirus is there to prevent infections ; my own antivirus slows down the starting processs because it makes a thorough "quickscan" before startup ; my Antivirus is Kaspersky , and I had to get rid of Norton a long time ago beacuse symantec was of no help at all .
