recently i had to format and reinstall due to a virus. now, when i turn on my pc (personal confuser), windows gives this log on screen with my user name and password (which i dont use), i can continue by pressing enter or click continue. the weird thing is that before the windows reinstall it did not do this.
i used to be able to just turn on the computer and it would go. now, it will not load until i act. i want to be able to turn it on and come back in 10 minutes and be ready to go. i cannot figure out how to stop this.
please help. |

Look in the Control Panel at User Accounts. You should be able to turn that off there. |

The other place to look is in your Network Connections settings. There are certain network settings that require the login at startup. I think that you would have to change the login scheme or something like that. If someone else knows more about this, please add your comments. |

In user accounts remove the user ASPI (I can't remember the actual name) or something to that effect and only have your own account which should be set as Administrator and that will most likely overcome it for you.
If no joy try Start/Run, type in control userpasswords2, OK and have a play about in there. |

i hate windows. i have fixed the problem by "ckecking" the "use welcome screen" in control panel, user accounts. now, tell me if that is not the exact oposite of what one would think! i would think by checking this box, the welcome screen would appear but now it does not.

I use teak ui or tweak XP Pro. Here you can drop the login window. Gerhard |

Something has caused your installation to be corrupted.
You may correct it with sfc /scannow but then you may not, I would be looking for malwares in the computer. |
