Ray, I've used Reg Vac for years and love it but had to stop. I've only used the novice version and set it to automatically remove the problem entries. I use about 4 or 5 other registry utilites and use them one after the other when I do my registry checks. For years, all my video players would suddenly stop working (audio but no video) and my computer would suddenly crash. These problems would only go away after I re-installed XP SP-2 and I could never figure out why. About 6 months ago I re-installed XP and haven't had any of these problems since. A few days ago, I realised that I had never re-installed Reg Vac. When I did and ran it, all my problems were back. I couldn't find a way to reverse the change because it automatically removed the files like I had set it up. I finally switched to Expert mode and there was a Undo file I was able to use. All the problems went away. Can you tell me what files Reg Vac is removing that it shouldn't and how can I switch the novice mode back to where I can edit the files it wants to remove. I still love the program and want to continue using it.

Have you tried updating RegVac?  That should be the first thing that you try.  All updates are free.
I am not sure what you mean by "how can I switch the novice mode back to where I can edit the files it wants to remove".  You can always tell RegVac what entries to skip in the redo.reg file.
If the latest version does not solve your problem, you can send the undo file to me by email (just reply to any emails that you have received from us) and I will try to figure out which entry is causing that (or you may be able to figure it out for yourself).  If I know which one it is, I will permanently cause RegVac to skip it.

Just wondering, Ray, what is the latest RegVac. I have 4.02.12. And how does one upgrade?

The latest version of RegVac at the time of this writing is 4.02.27.  You can find out what the latest version is and download it by going to the Registered Users section of the RegVac page (http://superwin.com/regvac.htm) on our website.
Select Download Registered Version.  You will be taken to a download link.  The download link is the latest version of the registered version.
There will also be a link for version information (do not download the file linked to in the version information because that will be the trial version).

There is also a feature in the Help menu of RegVac called Check for Updates which will check to see if you have the latest version.
