Just updated the machine and went to a faster unit with a lot more RAM. It is a 1.7G P4 with 1G RAM running Win XP. It seemed to run fine and then it started with the interminable wait to open Control Panel and the same is true on Save As or Save In. There are three drives, 2 SCSI and an IDE and everything shows when CP finally loads. We are talking several minutes of wait and that is not the way it should be. Got any idea on this one?

Thanks for the help but it seems a greater power interceeded. All of a sudden the machine seems to have reset itself after a period of rest and all is normal. Problem with that is that I did not learn anything !!!
