hi i have a problem...i took apart my puter and cleaned it,and when i put it back together and hooked all the cables back up and turned it on i got the message "new hardware was found" pci simple communications controller...what did i do / and how do i fix it ,i have windows xp and it's a dell. i don't even know what  the pci conroller is  if anyone can help i'd really appreciate it..thanx

Check all cards installed in your PCI slot (modems etc).If the problem is not in your mother board it could lie with one of the installed cards. Remove one at a time and see if the message disappears. Post results

thanx snake i went to manufacturer website and downloaded an update for it and that fixed the prob..but thanx i'll keep your advice handy just incase
