Ray, I really had a strange one happen to me today when I booted up. I save all photos sent to me in E-Mails. This morning, when I right click a photo and click "Save image as", The regular box pops up but the only options to save the photo are "Firefox" and "all files". Either choice saves the photo in ".HTM format. I don't have a clue how to fix this one. Any ideas???

A New Bible Built with Modern Technology

New Testament - Breakthrough Version

www.breakthroughversion.com

The Breakthrough Version achieves a much higher level of accuracy. It is:

  • more literal
  • more precise
  • more contemporary
  • more correct
  • more consistent

This Bible even translates hundreds of forgotten Greek words that no other Bible does.

It is an essential tool for Bible teachers and students, yet it is easy to read, even for newbies.

Ray, I forgot to mention that this only happens with photos. Text and web pages give the normal choice of formats to save the document in.

It sounds like the associations of the photo program have been messed up.  I would first restart Windows and see if that corrects the problem.  If not, try reinstalling your Photo program.

I tried re-installing Irfanview but it didn't help. A friend in Belgium told me it might be because I signed up for Open DNS yesterday and the E-Mail photos are actually being held on the web while OpenDNS sends them to me in HTM form allowing them to be read but not copied. That's way over my head. I wrote OpenDNS but haven't received an answer yet. Does that sound Plausible to you?

I don't know.  I would think that there would be a way to download the pictures.

Since my last post, I have discovered that this only occurs when I try to copy photos from e-mails. If they are sent as attachments, I can download then or if it's a newsletter, like from NASA, I can copy the photos with no problem. I can copy GIF files okay but the format is "Compuserve GIF" which I've never seen before. I'm using Yahoo mail but I can't find a setting that could have caused this. Any Yahoo users out there have an answer??
