Having a problem with Speed Startup Ver 2.01.08!
Using Win XP pro.   When a new program is detected, the backup is cleared and only the new program remains??? If I have to work around it would help knowing the name
of the backup file. I could rename a copy which would mean a quick restore.

A New Bible Built with Modern Technology

New Testament - Breakthrough Version

www.breakthroughversion.com

The Breakthrough Version achieves a much higher level of accuracy. It is:

  • more literal
  • more precise
  • more contemporary
  • more correct
  • more consistent

This Bible even translates hundreds of forgotten Greek words that no other Bible does.

It is an essential tool for Bible teachers and students, yet it is easy to read, even for newbies.

I do not know how that is possible.  How do you know that the backup is cleared?  What are you experiencing?
The backups are kept in the Backup directory of the Speed Startup directory and each item is in its own backup file using its own name as the name of the backup file.  The items are also listed in the RemovedItems.ini file in the Speed Startup directory.

Ray,
When a new program is discovered it rescans. after a reboot, only
the new program loads. if I go into Speed Startup and click on the backup tab, the only file listed is the new program. the strange thing is if i do a manual scan it appears to show the correct # of files, but upon clicking the backup tab it shows only the one program. rebooting does not change anything.

I have tried to reproduce this and I can't.  For me Speed Startup always works correctly.  Here is what I do:
1. Speed Startup starts at startup and detects a new item.
2. I click on the OK button of the message.
3. It scans and shows the results.
4. I click on Backup and it shows all of the items I have previously removed.

Is it possible that you have not removed any other items and so that is why nothing is in Backup?  Backup is not the same thing as the Results of the scan.
