Calling msconfig and checking the services I found the entry "RegVac Registry Service" running. I unchecked it and got no problems. My question: is there any use for this service?

The service is used to get the AutoComplete entries for the AutoComplete Editor.  If the service is not running, RegVac will start it and end it when it needs it.  It does not need to be running.
