Since IE 7 was installed I hve had to reboot my computer after about two hours of idle time.  Notably, when I want to check email Outlook Express says "can't find server", or connect to the web Explorer says "can't display this page."  I have looked eveywherd I can think of (Security settings, firewall, IE)  to find a setting similar to the desktop setting for screan-saver delay without success.  I did, however get a short reprieve when idling with an open Explorer page by clicking refresh, but could not change to another URL.  Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Eldred

I discovered a memory leak in IE7 when I had several tabs open in IE7 and I was clicking on links on the webpages to open other windows.  I was working on one of my webpages and so I had to open a lot of such windows and close them.  After some time of doing this, IE7 used up most of the memory and there was not enough memory to run other programs, to open the Task Manager, or to display popup menus.  I have repeated this many times.  The only solution for freeing up the memory is to restart Windows.
I don't know if that is the problem that you are experiencing or not.  You would have to be actively using IE7 for this to happen.

Ray,

Thanks for your quick reply.  Since I have disabled the tabs function, I believe the problems are not related.  If I leave a web page open and return later the use of refresh seems to do the job.  If IE7 is not open it will shut down so that I must restart.

Thanks,
