HI all, I have the registered version's of XP Recovery CD Maker and Barts PE Builder, I tried to build a XP Recovery disk but can't because it can't locate the " setupldr.bin " file, I've searched high and low for it but it just dosen't live on my system, XP Pro sp2, has anyone else had this problem and did you resolve it?? I'm always looking for a better way to recover my ever crashing computers with XP on them.

you can find a copy of it in the /I386 directory of your original source XP cd.

As Snakeyes points out, that file is in the I386 directory.  Not all computers come with this directory.  If your computer has it, it is in the Windows directory (I386 folders located anywhere else are not the correct folders and will not have the needed files).
If you have a Windows CD, it is also on it (in this case, you could copy the I386 folder to the Windows folder).
If you don't have either of these, XP Recovery CD Maker (specifically the Bart PEBuilder part) will not work on your computer.
You could find a computer that has the I386 folder and make the CD on it.  Once made the CD will work on any computer.

Thank You both for your responce's, I didn't count them but after doing a search for the file I came up with ten "i386" folders within the Windows Directory, one in the C:\Windows\Driver Cache,  one in C:\Windows\ServicePack Files, C:\Windows\System32\spool\XPSEP, C:\Windows\system32\spool\XPSEP\i386 and the rest in assorted other C:\Windows\System32\ReinstallBackups folders, I'm going to guess I can paste the file from the XP Install Disk right into the C:\Windows\i386 Directory without conflict. Or does that need to go into the C:\Windows\System32\i386, Again thanks for your time to respond to my question.

Hi Again, Well I copied the i386 folder from my XP installation CD to my Windows Directory and sucessfully made a Recovery CD, the first try I just created a folder and named it "i386" and copied the setupldr.bin file to it and attempted to make the CD, this is where I learned that I needed more than just the one file to make the CD, the next round I just copied the entire i386 folder to my Windows Directory and that did the trick, my cd went off without a hitch, So my next question is whether or not to just leave the folder where it is or remove it? are the contents of the i386 folder that I copied from my XP installation disk required in the event that I need to use the CD to recover from a crash? I'm not concerned about saving space on my hard drive so keeping it isn't a problem unless it could cause some kind of problem down the road.
Thanks Again for your Help

you have the space leave it.  It can be useful when checking for system files etc.

You did the correct thing in copying the whole folder from the Windows CD to C:\Windows\i386.  The files in that folder are used to make the boot CD and thus have a slimmed down operating system for the CD.  You will not need the folder with its files unless you make another boot CD.  But I agree that you might as well just keep it there.
The other i386 folders that you found do not have the correct files in them and so cannot be used to make the boot CD.  They have their own purposes, so keep them where they are.
