I downloaded and installed XP Recovery disc maker, including Bart PE portion. It opens and starts OK as a boot disc.  Slipstream may or may not have happened.
I am now unsure of how to use it or prove that it will work.  Is this the time purchase the working version?

   Yes, if it burns the CD and your computer starts into Bart PE with it in the CD drawer, it works.
   Also check and see if it lists your harddrives in the Explorer part.
