I have forgotten what to type into "run" to show start up.  After installing a new program it is now in start up and I don't want it there.  Also, I once had a free microsoft program that showed all installed programs and you could delete from the list.  Do you happen to know the name of it?  Thank you in advance.

"MSCONFIG" is what you're looking for.

REGVAC (http://superwin.com/regvac.htm) has a utility to do the same thing but can also delete unwanted entries rather than just deselect.

Start REGVAC, go to "Expert Zone" then "tools" then "System Configuration"

Consider Ray's Speed Starup (http://superwin.com/speedstartup.htm). Its awesome and can easily resolve this issue.
