Hi,

I just started using Regvac today as a possible replacement for Registry Mechanic. I'm trying to remove two entries from the services folder in Control Panel for an unneeded security tool I've recently uninstalled. Though I've managed to remove the entries from services in msconfig using regedit, and they are disabled, they are still in the services folder in Control Panel, and in the registry. After backing up the registry and then finding the entries using Regvac's search function, I was not permitted to delete them from the registry. What else do I have to do?

Thanks,

Jim

I assume RegEdit is not allowing you to delete them.  If so, they may be entries that only the system is allowed to delete.  You are not the system.
Running uninstall for that security tool should have removed the services.
If you know where the file of a service is on your harddrive, you could try typing the location in Run and adding a space and then /uninstall (so that it would look something like this - C:/Program/Service.exe /uninstall ).
Also try renaming that file and then running RegVac.
