After downloading the latest Zone Alarm Pro and Windows Updates and rebooting, I get the following message:

"Your system has no paging file or the page file is too small." The message then gave instructions to fix the problem. I followed the instructions but still get the message.

To fix per the instructions in error message, I went to Control Panel, System, Advanced, Performance, Settings, Advanced tab, Change, Customize.

Under Virtual Memory, I have:

Initial Size (MB) 1524
Maximum Size (MB) 3048

The radio buttons for System Managed Size and No Paging File are empty.

I have 2 GB of RAM in my computer.

Help,anyone?

Seems to be a permissions problem.

Okay, thanks. This may have solved the issue, at least for now. Appreciate the quick response.

The problem occurred after I downloaded an update to ZoneAlarm pro. once I uninstalled ZAP, the Paging File error disappeared. I have since switched to Norton Internet Security 2006 and the problem has not re-occurred. So I have to conclude that ZAP was the cause. Hey, but with computers you never know. By the way, I noted that ZAP had another program update a few days after the update that seemingly caused me a problem, so maybe ZAP knew there was a bug in the earlier update. Hey, you never know.

Anyone else with the same experience?

Why not ask ZoneAlarm and find out for sure?
I am not that impressed with Norton.  They have other problems.

Thank you. Norton Internet Security is working just fine and now that nothing is broken I don't want to "fix" it.

I've had other problems with ZAP, although it works fine on my laptop--so far.

By the way, NIS gets great reviews in PC Magazine and PC World.

They get good reviews because they spend a lot of money on PC Magazine and PC World.  Computer magazines have a tendency to give good reviews to their advertisers and to big name products (there is great money potential there).  The first thing they ask a small company like me is how much money do you spend on advertising each month.  If I don't say a number in the tens or hundreds of thousands, they hang up.
And then most reviewers are not programmers, they are writers.  I cannot believe some of the reviews that I read.  To keep a reviewer from making mistakes in a review, all software companies send out reviews that they write and the reviewer simply copies it and adds superlatives.  There is a whole other side of reviews that the comsumer does not see.
I just know from my experience with programs that I have purchased from Norton (I being a programmer) that they were usually pieces of junk that I wondered why I even spent a penny on.  In most cases, they didn't do anything more than Windows did.  They did look good, though.
And then I am aware of one very big problem with Norton.  When a program uses Windows' ReplaceKey function, Norton will detect it and crash your computer when it is restarted.  Most people who experience this problem blame the program that used ReplaceKey (which luckily few programs do) instead of Norton.  If Norton crashes your computer like this, your only recourse is to reinstall Windows or restore a registry backup (Windows' Restore Points will not work) from outside of Windows.  I have walked many people who had registry backups through this process, but most just had to reinstall Windows and reinstall all of their programs.  I see that as a major problem.  It is in NIS.  It has been reported to me by close to a hundred people.  It is a problem that Norton has refused to fix.
I am not suggesting that you stop using Norton.  I am just explaining why I said what I said in my previous post.

Ray, I fully agree with you regarding NIS.
Furthermore, you haven't menbtioned the resources it uses.
