To set up your backup files, use the backup wizard.
It is accessed through the button on the left of the window.
It leads you step by step, one of the first questions asked is "Would you like to back up the registry?"

The default settings of WinRescue backs up the registry.  So you should just have to click on the Backup button on the Backup tab.

Thanx, Ray.  I guess it's getting backed up whenever I do a backup then.  That's good to know.

Yes, it is unless you went into the Backup Properties section and unchecked Registry.

I just went into the Backup Properties section, Ray, and the Registry is checked, so I'm okay.  Thanx for that info.  Just wondering, though, if a person goes into their Registry, changes something, and then has a problem...can that person somehow use the WinRescue XP Backup of their Registry to fix the problem?

Yes, as long as you make a backup of the registry before you made the changes, you just need to restore the backup using WinRescue and it will all be back the way it was before.
To do that click on the Crash Fixer tab, select the Backup that you want to restore, make sure the Windows Crash (Registry) checkbox is checked, and then click on the big Restore button.  You will have to restart the computer when prompted to.  That will put everything in the registry back to the way it was when you made the backup.

just to add to a comment of mine from some time ago on this topic:-

That's what I use WinRescue for - I know I can muck about with the Registry to my heart's content, make all sorts of messes, and then use WinRescue to undo all my errors. Good innit !!!
